Welcome to the Cardiovascular Simulator! This program requires the X Window System's window manager. A FEW POINTERS: Use the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to click on command buttons on the screen. To start viewing catheterization data, you must make a NEW PLOT. Identify values of points on plots by moving the mouse pointer. Click to make a mark. For DELETE and PRINT, the mouse pointer changes to a cross-hair; click on an area of the screen. The DELETE button may be used only for removing simulator windows. mwm: To MOVE, ICONIFY, and RESIZE windows, hold down the left mouse button and drag on window edges. When creating new windows, holding down the left mouse button and dragging alters the window size. The variable choice diagram for New Plot contains both independent and dependent variables. The variables above the dotted line are the dynamically-changing dependent variables, whereas those below the line are altered only by the user or the baroreceptor control system. Simulator Button Definitions: NEW PLOT: Look at a plot of one variable against others. SET PARAMETER: Choose a simulation parameter to create a modification number line. PARAMETER LIST: Obtain a list of current simulation parameter values. STOP/RESUME: Change the execution status of the simulation. RESUME TRANSIENT starts immediately, STEADY STATE discards data until steady state is reached. BAROREFLEX: Activate the experimental baroreceptor feedback system. PATIENTS: Choose from a list of patient cases. Use RESET to get back to the default simulation. PRINT: Choose the screen or a window for printout at a PostScript printer. DELETE: Choose a window (like this one) to delete from the cardiovascular simulator. RESET: Reset simulator to pristine experiment on a normal subject. QUIT: Stop everything and exit the simulator. HELP: Create a window containing this page. GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!
