file: MAC.TXT G. Moody 6 February 1995 Notes on installing and using the DB Software Package on the Macintosh For general information on the DB Software Package, see the file `software/README.TXT'. See `db/MAC' for details on compiling the DB Software Package from the sources in the `db' directory. The `db' directory contains the DB Software Package in C source form. The files within the `db' directory are in UNIX text format (newlines are marked by ASCII line feed characters only). Pat Hamilton notes that: If you open these files with a standard editor they will look a little odd because of the control character used for carriage returns. With Microsoft Word the character will look like a "]". Use the replace function to replace all "]" with carriage returns. You will have to use copy and paste to get the "]" and carriage return into the replace boxes, because you can't type these control characters. If you can supply or test a Macintosh self-extracting archive (.sea) of the DB Software Package for inclusion in a future edition of this disk, please write to me (george@hstbme.mit.edu).
