In-Vehicle Communication and Information Access System

CoPiLoTo is an integral in-vehicle communications and information access system, that through a dialogue system allows:

  • To establish basic oral communications with the outside of the vehicle through a cellular telephone,
  • To improve the internal communications among passengers,
  • To read written information,
  • To access the navigation system,
  • The control of the in-vehicle information systems.

To accomplish these objectives, CoPiLoTo will incorporate the following modules:

  • Internal Communication module, known as Cabin Car Communications System (CCCS).
  • Active Noise Control, active headrests.
  • Hands-free cellular telephone with oral interface and noise and echo cancellation.
  • Voice recording module with oral interface.
  • 3D Audio module.
  • Navigation module with oral interface (SiTio).
  • Written information access module, such as WAP pages, email, fax, SMS messages through oral interface.
  • Vehicle control module with oral interface.
  • Phone and address book access module with oral interface.
  • Management module of the overall CoPiLoTo .

What is already done?

 A in-vehicle navigation and tourist information retrieval system has been completely developed in Java in a modular way.
A hands-free speech interface with a Spanish text-to-speech system and a continuous speech automatic recognition system, Currently, the automatic speech recognition system is trained only for the Spanish language.
An operative Cabin Car Communication System built on an Analog Devices AD21060 Digital Signal Processors platform.
Two Active Noise Control demo systems for vehicle seats.
